There
is a classroom curriculum posted where parents can view our weekly focus on infant
development. Some examples of specific curriculum introductions might be shapes,
colors, animals, flowers, family, etc. The infant's daily activities always include
rocking, singing songs, and having individual interaction on the floor with the
caregivers. Teachers have direct conversations with each child during the course
of the day for special bonding, social interaction and language development. A
variety of creative activities will be offered during the week which will encourage
and support growth and development physically, cognitively, socially and emotionally. Our
physical environment is inviting, home-like and conducive to safe exploration
where toys are rotated out on a regular basis. We understand that visual stimulation
as well as tactile exploration is important to each child'slearning experience.
Trips outdoors give the children an opportunity to interact with nature and experience
the changing climates. Finger painting, arranging tactile blocks, or pouring
and sifting rice allows for sensory exploration. Rocking to Mozart & story-time
stimulate cognitive awareness. |
